Privacy

To begin with, Pic is an image-sharing site that only stores the absolute minimum when it comes to personal data.

All metadata is permanently deleted before the image is encrypted and uploaded, and the file name is changed to an ID number based on the image's content. The file format is changed to WebP.

Storage

All images are encrypted at client level and then uploaded to the server, together with the image's encryption key.

The server can read the encryption key, but only the uploader decides when the image should be decrypted (for example, when the user shares it on a forum).

The user's IP address is assigned for each uploaded image and is saved in the same JSON file as the image.

Duration

An image remains on the server, together with the associated encryption key and database file (JSON), until the uploader chooses to delete the image.

However, there is one exception. If it becomes apparent to the person managing Pic that an image breaches the rules, the image will either be deleted without warning or flagged.

A flagged image means that an investigation is underway.
